FODC does not tolerate any kind of hate speech or serious insensitivity to any group of individuals. 2. At Reagan 2.0 we have "a place for everything and everything for its place", please respect the fact that certain subjects belong in certain places. We may set up Forum Groups, such as the Hardball Lounge, from time to time for members who want to discuss specific issues and when we do we ask that those discussions move to the Forum Group. 4. There are community volunteers and workers who can help you: Guides- these are people who have moderator power and who seek to assist members, especially new members. We will be providing a list of Guides and you can contact them if you have questions or issues. You will see them with the title R2CG R2MOD. Team Leaders- these people assist the Guides and/or run their own Group and who serve in some voluntary capacity to help with various projects or issues, A Team Leader may have the title "R2-TL" beside their name. IT IS a serious violation of our Terms of Use to use a badge or title indicating that you have an official position of any kind within our community if this is not the case. If you see a title like "NB-MOD" this is a GROUP title, it means that this person is a Moderator in a group. 5. We do not allow multiple ID's: if we find a member has more than one ID per IP address, computer, or email address we may remove BOTH ID's. Please let us know in advance if two people use the same computer or email address. If you do not know about "IP Addresses" don’t sweat it, this probably does not apply to you, however we will let you know if there is an issue. Understand that if we do contact you, we are just doing housekeeping". Your help makes our life a lot easier and prevents a lot of potential for mistakes! 6. Personal issues, issues related to our community’s internal affairs or the specific issues of a specific member, and personal conflicts do not belong in public forums. You can and should address issues to moderators based on their relevancy and we have a place in forums, under feedback, where concerns, suggestions, and things of that nature can be discussed freely provided nobody's personal information is discussed 7. EVERY area in our community is PRIVATE and all content is copyright Reagan 2.0 or the person who posted that content and is protected under the law: we are a private community, this is NOT a street corner. You may not copy and paste or use any private information or email broadcast without the express permission of the person who posted it and copying and pasting articles , email broadcasts to members, or blog entries may be a violation of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act REAGAN 2.0 General Guidelines 1. We have public spaces, chat and forum, which are generally for people who agree with Reagan’s 10 Commandments. Please respect that if you go into these areas. You may be asked to "take it to the Hard Ball Lounge", a space we have set up just for our friends who may not always agree with us, a place where we can meet and debate or just be friends: generally, however, if you stay ON TOPIC and CIVIL you can post your views in forums at will. 2. Groups- you can start your own group IF you are a verified member and we will be happy to help you. If you start a group you may be given an opportunity to join The Community Building Group where group owners, Guides, and Team Leaders can share ideas and insights. Yyou can join any of the groups in our community, pursuant to the policy of the group leaders, the standards or rules of the whole community apply but these groups generally have their own rules and standards as well. 3. Your Profile- Private information is ONLY seen by you and the admins, nobody else. You will see a lock sign by that information. You can choose who can see your profile. You can blog there, or post items, you can customize your profile, choose friends, and lots more. 5. Duplicate POSTING- If you are posting an article, please do NOT post the SAME article in numerous places. post you main article and then post SNIPPETS with a link to the main post for reader to find and try, in your snippet, to make your post relevant to the subject at hand or the purpose of the group where you are making the post. This is a bigger issue than many people know for search engines and by helping us with this you are increasing our "relevancy" to the search engines. Search engines do not "like" one site with multiple posts of the same content. Posting Etiquette 1. Search before you post: Many topics have been discussed at length previously. Before posting any new thread please check to see if a prior thread has been recently posted already. 2. Stay on topic and post threads in the appropriate forum. Please post only messages that are relevant to the subject of the Forum - and relevant to the thread. 3. Don’t hijack threads: Don’t post irrelevant queries within threads; don't "gently caress" a thread or repeat the same argument over and over to occupy space. Please do not start a duplicate thread that can be incorporated into existing discussion threads. Moderators will be the sole judge as to what constitutes hijacking and their word is final. 4. Never post personal information such as phone numbers, credit card numbers, addresses, etc. in any public Forum. Please be very careful about giving out your personal email address or donating money to anyone through links as well. There are excessive amounts of postings and requests from new members who are providing links for donations and request of personal email addresses and credit card information. 5. Don't cross-post or double-post. Posting a message to more than one Forum (i.e "cross-posting") is unnecessary, and creates extra content for you and others to read through. If you've already posted a discussion, please don't repeat your posts in order to get more attention - this makes it very difficult for others to have their post be noticed. 6. Please report any disruptive behavior of a member by utilizing the proper protocol within the forum group, or blog you are participating in, do NOT accuse members IN PUBLIC of being a "troll" a "clone", a "spy" or of anything 7. Be nice. Please refrain from posting both inappropriate language and content. Personal attacks and insults are never appropriate. 8. Don't Post Messages in All Caps or All Bold. This is the online equivalent of shouting and marks your post as either a newbie or someone who wants to be rude. Either way you're better off simply not doing it. 9. Questionable Actions and Content. The Forum rules are not designed to cover every scenario. Any action that is seen to be counter-productive or harmful to the community or offensive to its members will be "moderated". The moderators can and will act in the best interest of the community. |
